Beds and mattresses supplier continues margin growth

Aspire Furniture, manufacturer, importer and distributor of beds and mattresses, has reported an increase in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2025, total sales rose 4.3% to £20m from £19.1m in 2024.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £175,000, down from £329,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Gross margin increased by £0.6m, 182bp, owing to driving production efficiencies in the factory and revenue management, providing a platform for further margin enhancement in 2026 and beyond.

“We have invested in additional resource and infrastructure in 2025 to give us a platform for sustained growth. In particular, we have centralised our distribution network at premises near Leeds close to the regional motorway network.

“The results of these investments show as an increased net asset position to £1.28m from £1.27m in the prior period. The investment has caused an increase in overhead and borrowing costs, thereby impacting trading profit in the short term. We are confident this puts us in a strong position to scale and diversify the business in the coming years.

“EBITDA remained relatively flat at £0.6m. However, the 2025 results include £0.2m one-off and double running costs owing to the relocation of our distribution operation. Underlying EBITDA was £0.8m.”
