Beds and mattresses supplier grows margin in year of consolidation

Aspire Furniture, manufacturer, importer and distributor of beds and mattresses, has reported sales of almost £20m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2024, total sales stood at £19.1m, down from £27.9m in 2023 – although this was over an 18-month trading period.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £329,000, up from £9,000 recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The financial period was a year of consolidation for the business with focus on growth in gross margins and building the foundations for future expansion.

“Gross margin increased by £0.4m, 230bp, owing to driving production efficiencies in the factory and revenue management, providing a platform for further margin enhancement in 2025 and beyond.

“We have invested in additional resource in 2024 to give us a platform for sustained growth. Toward the end of the financial year, Aspire welcomed Steven Pinch as Financial Director, with Kit Burgoyne appointed Commercial Director. Steven has brought a wealth of experience into the board room.”
