Cult performs better than expected as profit returns

Furniture importer and retailer Cult has reported a strong year with the company seeing a return to profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, total sales fell to £11m from £12.8m in 2023 – although this was against a longer 15-month trading period.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £62,000, improving from its loss of £260,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The company turnover for the year was £11m for the 12 months to 31 December 2024, this is higher than the previous the year despite difficult trading conditions – last year numbers report a 15-month period.

“Gross Profit was maintained at 49%, level on last year and management are pleased with this performance given the challenges and it’s in the higher brackets for our industry.

“Overall, we are satisfied with the performance of the company, resulting in better-than-expected results reaching closer to our long terms goal.”
