Long serving independent carpet business Denis Green has closed following the retirement of its owner.

Situated in Mill Walk, Witney, Denis Green has been established since 1967. The company was founded by World War Two veteran Denis Green, with his son Stan later taking over the business back in 1993.

After decades of successful business, Stan decided the time was right to retire, with the company closing for the final time on 16 January 2026.

“Business seemed so much easier in the early days, but with rising overheads and so many new regulations brought in by the various governments it’s so much more difficult for all businesses,” Stan said on the closure.

“We have been so thankful for so many loyal customers supporting us.”
