Furnishing firms receive 2026 King’s Awards for Enterprise recognition

A number of furnishing industry businesses have been named in the 2026 King’s Awards for Enterprise – the UK’s most prestigious business awards.

This year, 186 businesses representing every part of the United Kingdom and a diverse range of sectors have been recognised by His Majesty The King as among the best in the country.

Overall, 76 businesses have been recognised for International Trade, 52 for Innovation, 36 for Sustainability and 22 for Promoting Opportunity Through Social Mobility. Within the furnishings industry, the businesses recognised include:

For outstanding achievements in International Trade:

Lyngard Ltd – Lyngard creates timeless, decorative handcrafted lighting using fine bone china, celebrating British design.

Sharland England Ltd – Market-leading, unique-design rattan furniture, upholstery and tabletop, handcrafted by artisans, decorating luxury homes globally.

Wool Room Ltd – Woolroom is a family-run business founded in 2008 and grew out of 150 years of experience in sourcing the finest wool and textiles.

For outstanding achievements in Innovation:

AW Hainsworth & Sons Ltd – For more than 241 years, AW Hainsworth has been the name associated with woollen fabrics of exceptional quality.

Ergochair Ltd – Ergochair was founded in 2002 to help people sit, work, and live better.

For outstanding achievements in Sustainability:

House of Hackney LTD – The luxury British interiors and lifestyle brand that reworks tradition for a new generation. Proudly certified as a BCorp for meeting the highest standards.

The Natural Mat Co Ltd – Organic mattresses, beds & bedding made by hand In Devon since 1999.

This year marks a significant milestone for the Awards, as they celebrate 60 years since the first honours were conferred in 1966. Established in 1965, the programme has since recognised more than 8,000 exceptional UK businesses, highlighting the strength, innovation, and ambition of British enterprise. 

Blair McDougall, Minister for Small Businesses and Economic Transformation said: “A huge congratulations to every business receiving awards this year, who once again have illustrated the best of British innovation and talent.

“These awards show that right across the UK, there are small businesses that are thriving, growing and succeeding and it’s only right that we champion these successes.”
