Furniture brand earmarks debut Essex store

Furniture brand Loaf has revealed plans to open a new store in Chelmsford.

Situated on Springfield Road, Loaf has submitted a planning application to Chelmsford City Council.

The plans state a new Loaf shopfront at a vacant property on Springfield Road. It will fill the unit next to Majestic’s wine warehouse.

An opening date has not been confirmed; however, the new store proposal will mark Loaf’s first shop in Essex.

Back in August last year, the company reported sales of £66.4m for the year ended 31 December 2024, with a pre-tax profit of £2.1m.

Loaf currently operates from 11 stores, or ‘Shacks’ as the brand labels them, with its most recent opening in Islington during July 2025.
