Furniture deserves careful logistics

Formed in 1945 – primarily to service the textile industry in Tuscany, Italy – the Albini & Pitigliani group now has a presence in over 75 countries, including ALPI in the UK.

It utilises a mixture of own brand offices along with selected trusted partners, to offer high quality freight services by road, sea and air to the whole spectrum of industry, including all aspects of the furniture sector.

Italy specialists, but much more too

Given their heritage, clearly Italy remains a large part of the company’s core business. They operate weekly services to and from seven of their own depots; from Verona and Milan in the north, down to Barletta and Naples in the south. Direct trailers provide regular departures and competitive pricing.

This is enhanced by ALPI UK’s commitment to first class communications and updates – giving genuine value for money services to their whole range of customers.

Whilst known particularly for Italy, ALPI UK are equally respected for their other European road services too. Head of Sales Rob Hatcliffe explains: “We are highly regarded for Italy, however we are equally proud of our services for Denmark, Germany, Spain, Portugal, France, Turkey, Greece and Romania too. Out of gauge goods, exhibition stock, or furniture installations can all be handled with the premium level of care that we have become renowned for.”

Sea and air, to build on road freight expertise

Sea freight is another area where ALPI UK have seen significant growth. Dedicated teams manage key routes including the Far East, USA and India. LCL, FCL and project cargo all feature within ALPI’s specialist remit.

ALPI’s expertise is not limited to land and sea, as their Heathrow office is perfectly placed to compete in the air freight sector too. It provides clients with an effective, efficient option, that has seen the customer base grow for this global market.

The difference is the people

Group offices and trusted partners worldwide enable ALPI to offer very attractive services, marrying customer care with competitive pricing, all handled by a client-focussed team in the UK.

Adding to the list of ALPI’s broad range of services, is their in-house 7-days a week customs brokerage facilities, covering all of their UK offices & depots. This provides customs solutions and in-depth knowledge for shipments carried, third-party clearances, and consultancy projects too.

Buildings that support clients, and technology for their future needs

Completing the specialist areas offered by the group is ALPI’s ability to assist with warehousing, storage and 3PL requirements in their Basildon and Manchester depots. They have excellent facilities, providing secure, clean warehousing, adept at short and long term storage for all types of freight, combined with e-commerce, pick & pack options, and flexible reporting systems.

“If you feel that your valued furniture shipments deserve the best in careful logistics, please contact us, so we can learn more about your requirements on sales@alpiuk.com, or call our Basildon head office on 01268 535300 and ask for the sales team.”
