Furniture searches pick up post-Christmas during December 2025

UK searches of furniture during December were fairly low but picked up post-Christmas, with Furniture Village, Wayfair and Next being searched the most.

According to Google search data analysed by Big Furniture Group, three days during December 2025 saw ‘furniture’ searches record an index score of 90 or more, while a score over 80 came in at five days. The highest searched date was 28 December with a full score 100.

Google index’s its search data to 100. This means where 100 is the maximum search interest for the term selected, it is the highest value and indicates a high internet search.

The results saw related searches of specific terms that included ‘wayfair’, up 4,000%, ‘furniture village’, and ‘next furniture sale’. Other popular terms included ‘hsl furniture’ – up 80%, ‘scs sofas’ – up 70%, and ‘furniture shop near me’ – up 50%, while ‘next bedroom furniture’ was up 40%.

Other search terms Big Furniture Group reviewed included mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living room furniture, sofas, carpets and flooring.

Mattresses

Mattress searches recorded two peak dates with an index score value of 90 or more. The highest searched date was 28 December with a full score of 100. Popular related brand searches included Wayfair, Emma, Dormeo, Dreams and Argos. The terms ‘how to choose a mattress’ – up 250%, ‘what is a coil mattress’ – up 200%, and ‘mattress shops near me’ – up 70%, were notable searches. Meanwhile, ‘dreams mattress sale’ – up 70%, ‘best mattress 2025’ – up 50%, and ‘folding bed with mattress’ – up 40%, searches were other high related queries.

Bedroom furniture

Bedroom furniture searches recorded one day of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 28 December, which scored a full 100. Popular brand searches included DFS, Wayfair, Bensons for Beds, Howdens, Oakland Furniture, Starplan, Next, Wickes, IKEA, John Lewis and Very. The terms ‘modular bedroom furniture’ – up 200%, ‘bedroom furniture store near me’ – up 100%, ‘baby bedroom furniture’, and ‘ikea while bedroom furniture’ were high searches.

Dining furniture

Dining furniture searches recorded one day of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 28 December, which scored a full 100. Popular brand searches included Next, Furniture World, Furniture Village, Furniture And Choice, ScS and John Lewis. The terms ‘furniture village sale dining table’ – up 300%, ‘extendable dining table and chairs’ – up 60%, ‘next dining chairs’, and ‘furniture village dining tables’ were all high searches.

Living room furniture

Living room furniture saw one peak day during the month. The most searched day was 28 December that scored the full 100 score. Popular brand related searches included DFS, Wayfair, Furniture Village and Argos. The terms ‘furniture village’ – up 110%, ‘argos living room furniture’, and ‘side tables for living room’, were all standout searches.

Sofas

Sofa searches saw three peak dates, with the highest score of 100 recorded on 28 December. Popular related brand searches included Wayfair, SofaSofa, Daals, Swyft, ScS, DFS, Sofology and Next. Search terms included ‘wayfair’ – up 2,550%, and ‘corner sofa’, up 500%. Other terms included ‘best sofa beds uk’ – up 110%, ‘sofa sales’ and ‘sofa beds near me’, which all performed highly.

Flooring & Carpets

Flooring searches saw four days scoring over 90, with the highest date being 1 December, scoring the full 100. Carpet searches saw six days scoring over 90, with the highest date on 2 December scoring the full 100. Popular brand searches included Tile Mountain, Antico Flooring, B&Q, Howdens, Kardean, Amtico, Brintons and United Carpets. Popular search terms included ‘flooring places near me’ – up 250%, ‘lvt flooring meaning’ – up 90%, and ‘commercial vinyl flooring’ – up 50%. Other terms included ‘carpet runner for hallway’ – up 140%, while ‘furniture sliders for carpet’ searches rose 100%, and ‘fitted carpet’, increased 400%.
