UK searches of furniture during August increased, while searches of mattresses, bedroom furniture, sofas and carpets all delivered strong results.
According to Google search data analysed by Big Furniture Group, seven days during August 2025 saw ‘furniture’ searches record an index score of 90 or more, while a score over 80 came in at 15 days. The highest searched date was 24 August with a full score 100.
Google index’s its search data to 100. This means where 100 is the maximum search interest for the term selected, it is the highest value and indicates a high internet search.
The results saw related searches of specific terms that included ‘Vinterior furniture’, up 200%, ‘roseland furniture reviews’, up 90%, and ‘vinted furniture’, up 70%. Other popular terms included ‘argos garden furniture sale’ – up 70%, ‘furniture village tv stands’ – up 70%, and ‘furniture village headboards’ – up 60%, while ‘nick scali furniture’ was up 50%. Furthermore, searches of ‘bedroom furniture’ were up 100%, ‘G Plan’ – up 40%, and ‘garden furniture sale – up 40%.
Other search terms Big Furniture Group reviewed included mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living room furniture, sofas, carpets and flooring.
Mattresses
Mattress searches recorded eight peak dates with an index score value of 90 or more. The highest searched date was 31 August with a full score of 100. Related brand searches saw Emma Ireland, Emma Mattress, OTTY, Nectar, Sleepeezee, Harrison Spinks, Bensons for Beds, Dreams, Dunlopillo, Mattressman and Sealy. The terms ‘best mattress topper for back pain’ – up 140%, ‘mattress topper small double’ – up 70%, and ‘sleepeezee mattress’ – up 40%, were all high searches. Meanwhile, ‘can you put mattresses in a skip’, ‘dreams sale mattresses’, ‘top 10 mattresses uk’ and ‘best mattress for back pain’ searches were other high related breakout queries.
Bedroom furniture
Bedroom furniture searches recorded seven days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 4 August, which scored a full 100. Popular brand searches included ercol, Roseland, Homebase, Sterling Furniture, H&M Home, Sharps, Wren, JYSK, Daals, and Bensons for Beds. The terms ‘solid oak bedroom furniture’, ‘space saving bedroom furniture’, ‘white bedside table’, and ‘ready assembled wardrobes’ were high breakout searches, while ‘nolte bedroom furniture’ searches rose 4,550%, and ‘4 piece bedroom furniture sets uk’ searches were up 4,250%.
Dining furniture
Dining furniture searches recorded four days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 17 August, which scored a full 100. Popular brand searches included IKEA, Homebase, MADE, Sterling Furniture, Roseland, DUSK, JYSK, OKA, Wayfair, Habitat, Cox & Cox and Neptune. The terms ‘dining table and chairs’, ‘space saving dining table’, ‘ikea dining table and chairs’, and ‘small dining table for 2’ were high breakout searches, while ‘swivel dining chairs’ searches rose 300%.
Living room furniture
Living room furniture saw two peak days during the month. The most searched day was 10 August that scored the full 100 score. Popular brand related searches included B&Q, Sterling Furniture, Next, Wayfair, IKEA and Very. The terms ‘oak coffee table’, ‘wall units for living room’, ‘furniture sets for living room’, ‘wall lights for living room’, ‘bespoke living room furniture’, and ‘small tables for living room’, were all standout searches.
Sofas
Sofa searches saw seven peak dates, with the highest score of 100 recorded on 3 August. Popular related brand searches included Loaf, Fishpools, Alstons, KC Sofas, DFS, Swoon, Parker Knoll, Tetrad, Heals, Sofas & Stuff and IKEA. Search terms included ‘Chesterfield Sofas’, up 400%, ‘sofa workshop’, up 4,500% and ‘slimline sofas for small rooms’, up by 2,800%. Other terms included ‘throws for sofas’, up 200%, ‘corner sofa bed’, up 150%, ‘modular sofas uk’, up 120% and ‘john lewis sofas clearance’, up 120%.
Flooring & Carpets
Flooring searches saw 17 days scoring over 90, with the highest date being 30 August, scoring the full 100. Carpet searches saw 13 days scoring over 90, with the highest date on 2 August scoring the full 100.
Popular brand searches included Flooring Superstore, B&Q, Tapi Carpets, Flooring King, Victoria Carpets, United Carpets, Calverts, Likewise Flooring and Carpet Warehouse. Popular search terms included ‘tapi carpets basingstoke’ – up 4,950%, ‘united carpets boston’, up 4,750%, ‘trade carpets grantham’, up 4,300%, and ‘tapi carpets reading’, up 2,900%.
