UK searches of furniture during April 2026 saw garden furniture perform well for a fourth straight month, while Oak Furnitureland, mattresses and bedroom furniture continued to show high search volumes.
According to Google search data analysed by Big Furniture Group, three days during April 2026 saw ‘furniture’ searches record an index score of 90 or more, while a score over 80 came in at seven days. The highest searched date was 26 April with a full score 100.
Google index’s its search data to 100. This means where 100 is the maximum search interest for the term selected, it is the highest value and indicates a high internet search.
The results saw related searches of specific terms that included ‘bedroom furniture’, up 500%, while ‘Oak Furnitureland’ searches rose 100%. Garden furniture searches were high with ‘morrisons garden furniture’ up 450%, as well as ‘tesco garden furniture’, up 190%. Administration searches were a breakout in relation to recent collapses in the industry, while ‘john lewis lampshades’ also delivered a high breakout trend.
Other search terms Big Furniture Group reviewed included mattresses, bedroom furniture, dining furniture, living room furniture, sofas, carpets and flooring.
Mattresses
Mattress searches recorded nine peak dates with an index score value of 90 or more. The highest searched date was 18 April with a full score of 100. Popular related searches included ‘mattress online’ – up 400%, ‘furniture village beds and mattress’ – up 170%, ‘dyson mattress tool’ – up 80%, ‘dreamcloud luxury hybrid mattress’ – up 70%, ‘silentnight mattress topper’ – up 50%, and ‘cooling mattress topper’ – up 50%.
Bedroom furniture
Bedroom furniture searches recorded three days of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 12 April, which scored a full 100. Popular related searches included ‘shaker bedroom furniture’ – up 1,950%, ‘stylish bedroom furniture’ – up 1,550%, ‘grey bedroom furniture sets’ – up 1,300%, and ‘contemporary bedroom furniture’ – up 400%. Meanwhile, ‘children bedroom furniture’, ‘custom bedroom furniture’, ‘ercol bedroom furniture’, and ‘cream bedroom furniture sets’ were all high breakout searches.
Dining furniture
Dining furniture searches recorded one day of peak activity with an index value over 90. The most searched date was 26 April, which scored a full 100. Popular related searches included ‘Oak Furnitureland’, ‘outdoor dining set’, ‘outdoor garden furniture’, ‘garden furniture dining set’, ‘rattan furniture’, and ‘john lewis furniture’.
Living room furniture
Living room furniture saw two peak days during the month. The most searched day was 12 April that scored the full 100 score. Popular related searches included ‘roseland furniture’ – up 2,650%, ‘living room storage furniture’ – up 700%, ‘living room rugs’ – up 250%, and ‘side tables for living room’ – up 110%. Other notable searches included ‘modern living room furniture sets’, ‘curtains for living room’, and ‘retro living room furniture’.
Sofas
Sofa searches saw eight peak dates, with the highest score of 100 recorded on 26 April. Popular related searches included ‘sofa bed alternatives small home’ – up 4,350%, ‘sofa beds john lewis’- up 130%, ‘rattan corner sofa’ – up 100%, and ‘garden corner sofa set’ – up 70%. Another high volume search term was ‘b&q corner sofa daybed’ as well as ‘Sofology’, ‘Sofa Club’, ‘DFS’ and ‘Oak Furnitureland’.
Flooring & Carpets
Flooring searches saw 15 days scoring over 90, with the highest date being 15 April, scoring the full 100. Carpet searches saw nine days scoring over 90, with the highest date on 3 April scoring the full 100. Popular related searches included ‘UK Flooring Direct’ – up 450%, ‘flooring superstore’ – up 120%, ‘beading for laminate flooring’ – up 70%, ‘wood effect vinyl flooring’, ‘carpet runner for hallway’ – up 250%, and ‘outdoor carpet’ – up 40%. The term ‘how to get nail varnish out of carpet’ experienced high volume searches, rising by 2,150%.
