Homeware high street sales maintain positive growth

Homeware sales maintained positive on the high street for a second consecutive week.

According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales rose 3.41% for the week ending 19 October 2025.

Homewares total LFLs jumped by +14.25% from a base of +3.27% for the same week in 2024, indicating the category’s second consecutive positive outcome and fourth in the past five weeks.

Store homewares sales sprang up by +14.90% from a base of +2.21%, signifying the category’s second consecutive positive result, while non[1]store sales for homewares fell for a fourth straight week, dropping by -2.80% from a positive base of +2.25%.

Total store LFL sales grew by +4.66% from a base of +2.90% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales went up by +4.40% from a base of +6.95% for the same week last year.

Commenting on the results, BDO said: “In-store sales were positive for all retail segments despite footfall results falling across the board. Non-store fashion sales remained strong for another week, helping to boost total LFL sales this week.

“The UK experienced mild autumn weather this week, with cool temperatures of around 11°C to 14.6°C. The same week last year was characterized by fluctuating temperatures and a mix of dry and wet conditions.”

Overall footfall dropped by -1.1% as results fell across all tracked categories. Foot traffic to retail parks declined by -2.2% and by -1.7% in shopping centres. On the high streets, footfall slightly decreased by -0.3%.
