Homeware high street sales rise for fourth straight week

Homeware sales rose on the high street for a fourth straight week.

According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales rose 3.51% for the week ending 1 February 2026.

Homewares total LFLs grew by +5.40% from a base of +8.98% for the same week last week, marking the category’s fourth consecutive positive week.

Store homewares sales increased by +8.65% from a positive base of +11.22% for the same week last year, representing the category’s second consecutive positive week. Non-store homewares sales rose by +3.95% from a base of +1.93% last year.

Total store LFL sales increased by +2.70% from a base of +3.84% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales saw positive growth of +2.38% from a negative base of -4.15% for the same week last year.

Commenting on the results, BDO said: “This week’s weather was marked by severe, widespread disruption due to Storm Chandra, which struck the UK with intense rain, strong winds and snowfall.”

Overall footfall fell by -3.5%, driven by high street foot traffic which fell by -4.7%, and shopping centre footfall which saw foot traffic fall by -3.0%, and retail parks which also saw footfall fall by -1.5%.
