Homeware sales rose on the high street for a third straight week.
According to the latest BDO High Street Sales Tracker, total like-for-like (LFL) sales fell 3.19% for the week ending 25 January 2026.
Homewares total LFLs grew by +6.50% from a base of +3.02% for the same week last week, marking the category’s third consecutive positive week.
Store homewares sales increased by +0.85% from a base of -0.05%, representing the category’s sixth consecutive positive week.
Total store LFL sales increased by +4.21% from a base of -2.88% for the same week last year. Total non-store LFL sales sank by -8.23% from a positive base of +8.62% for the same week last year.
Commenting on the results, BDO said: “This week’s weather in the UK was mostly unsettled weather with frequent rain and breezy to windy conditions.
“The same week last year was generally cold and unsettled with frequent rain and drizzle with occasional frost, fog and a winter storm.”
Overall footfall grew by +0.9%, an increase driven by healthy foot traffic in retail parks, which rose by +2.5%, while shopping centre footfall went up by +0.9% and high street foot traffic increased by +0.1%.
