Hug Rug unveils brand refresh and new website

Hug Rug, the original creators of the washable rug, has unveiled its brand refresh and new website, as it celebrates 18 years in business.

Founded in 2007 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire, where it continues to craft its rugs and doormats, Hug Rug’s rebrand celebrates its heritage and British craftsmanship whilst embracing the brand’s future.

The new website officially launched on the 18 September, the same day that Hug Rug celebrated its 18th anniversary. 

Lizzie Mosley, Creative Director at Hug Rug, states: “18 years is an exciting milestone for us, and we look forward to celebrate our journey so far whilst also looking forward to the next 18 years and beyond.

“Our Yorkshire roots and British craftsmanship are at the heart of Hug Rug, and we hope that with our rebrand and new website we can better tell this story. With our refreshed identity, we put our passion for style, sustainability and practicality at the forefront, evolving the brand whilst staying true to who we are.”

Part of the Phoenox Textiles family, Hug Rug’s rebrand honours its 18th anniversary as well as Phoenox’s over 70 years of British craftsmanship. All the brand’s products are crafted in the UK at its family-run mill in Yorkshire, which has been in operation since 1954.

Its new logo elevates the brand’s heart icon to maintain the brand’s spirit, whilst embracing the brand’s warmth and approachability. With a refined tone of voice and visual identity, Hug Rug champions its UK manufacturing, ongoing commitment to sustainability, and its products, which effortlessly combine functional, washable design with aesthetic appeal.
