In a notice by the Office for Product Safety and Standards, the product at risk of overheating and malfunctioning is the John Lewis & Partners 2-Seater and 3-Seater Slider Sofas.

The products, which originated from China, are described as 2-and 3-seater chenille slider sofas with models including Natural Chenille and Navy Chenille.
A statement said: “The product presents a risk of fire as there is a faulty button on the recliner mechanism. This means there is a risk of the circuit board overheating and malfunctioning, causing the recliner to stop working.
“This product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016. The product has been withdrawn from the market and is subject to a modification programme.
“John Lewis have contacted affected customers and advised that they unplug the product and stop using the recline/charging functions. Affected customers should contact the John Lewis & Partners Aftersales Team to arrange a visit and repair via 03456 049 049.”
A John Lewis spokesperson commented: “We want all customers to get the quality and service they expect from John Lewis.
“While we’ve received no customer complaints about this sofa or reports of this issue causing a fire, we issued this notice as a precautionary measure after finding that one of the control buttons could be prone to overheating.
“Our tests also found that all safety measures worked as designed; the transformer immediately cut the power to the faulty button, preventing any further issue.
“We immediately contacted customers and have already had all the buttons replaced by a technician as a precaution.”
Furthermore, John Lewis added that implicated sofas were sold between 05/08/2025 and 30/10/2025, with the issue now fully resolved, and the product now on sale being safe and compliant.
In another notice, furniture wholesaler Monumart Ltd has also issued a product recall on a recliner armchair over fire safety concerns.
In a notice by the Office for Product Safety and Standards, the product recall is for the Yaheetech Recliner Armchair.
The product, which originates from China, is described as a fabric-upholstered recliner in neutral grey, with padded seat, backrest, armrests and manual reclining function.

A statement said: “The product does not meet fire safety requirements. This means there is a potential risk of a fire if the product is exposed to an ignition source.
“The product does not meet the requirements of the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988. The product has been recalled from end users.
“Owners are advised to contact Monumart Ltd to arrange for the return of the product for disposal and a full refund.”
Furthermore, another notice has seen online marketplace Amazon also issue a product recall on a floor lamp over fire safety concerns.
In a notice by the Office for Product Safety and Standards, the product recall is for the Floor Lamp LDDUK-WRD-BK.
The product, which originated from China, is described as a floor standing lamp with wall plug and power supply.
A statement said: “The product presents a risk of fire as the plug does not meet the dimensional requirements of BS 1363 and the fuse is incorrectly rated.
“A correctly rated fuse is required to ensure the safe operation of the plug under fault conditions, and its absence could lead to the plug overheating and/or exploding. Improvements are also required to product labelling and marking.
“This product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and the Plugs & Sockets etc. (Safety) Regulations 1994.
“The import has been rejected at the border and destroyed. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).”
