Kent family retailer Lenleys Home has marked its 90th anniversary with a hugely successful celebration event, welcoming customers, brand partners, local artisans and members of the community to its Canterbury showroom.
The special anniversary evening formed part of Lenleys milestone year celebrations, commemorating nine decades of family ownership since the business was founded in Canterbury in 1936 by childhood friends Leonard Watts and Stanley Adsett.
Visitors enjoyed an evening dedicated to design, craftsmanship and community, with live music, complimentary refreshments, a makers market featuring local businesses, interactive demonstrations from leading furniture and interiors brands, and exclusive anniversary offers.
The event attracted both long-standing customers and new visitors, creating an opportunity to celebrate not only the company’s history but also the relationships built over generations across Kent.
Third-generation family member Lavinia Watts said: “It was incredibly special to see so many people join us to celebrate this milestone. We were overwhelmed by the support shown by our customers, friends of the business, suppliers, local makers and the wider community.
“Reaching 90 years in business is something we’re immensely proud of, and the event was a wonderful reminder of the relationships and loyalty that have helped Lenleys reach this point.
“As a family business, we’ve always believed that creating homes is about creating connections, and it was fantastic to bring so many people together to celebrate our shared history and look ahead to the future.”
Throughout the evening, guests enjoyed live demonstrations from trusted Lenleys partners including Vispring, Duresta and JAB, providing a behind-the-scenes insight into the craftsmanship and expertise behind some of the industry’s most respected brands.
The event also showcased a carefully curated makers market featuring local artisans, reflecting Lenleys long-standing commitment to supporting creativity and craftsmanship within Kent.
Now led by Lavinia Watts and Oliver Greenfield, grandchildren of founder Leonard Watts, Lenleys continues to evolve while remaining true to the values on which the business was built nearly 90 years ago.
With stores in Canterbury and Maidstone, the family-run retailer remains focused on helping customers create beautiful homes through quality furniture, expert advice and exceptional service.
