For furniture brands and retailers, China remains one of the most important manufacturing hubs in the world. Being physically based in China allows for real-time oversight at every stage of production, from raw material selection through to final container loading. Effective QC/QA isn’t just a final inspection — it’s a structured process that includes:

            •           Factory vetting and capability assessment

            •           Sample and pre-production approval

            •           In-line inspections during production

            •           Final random inspections against AQL standards

            •           Supervised packing and loading

This approach dramatically reduces risk, improves consistency, and protects brand reputation especially for retailers supplying demanding UK, EU, and US markets.

Acting as an Extension of the Buyer’s Team

One of the biggest challenges for overseas buyers is communication. Language barriers, cultural differences, and time zones can all lead to misunderstandings. My role is to bridge that gap, acting as a local extension of the buyer’s team while maintaining firm, professional relationships with factories.

Clear specifications, documented standards, and accountability on both sides are essential. When factories understand that quality is being actively monitored not just checked at the end overall performance improves.

The most successful furniture brands don’t chase factories; they build long-term partnerships. By aligning expectations early, maintaining consistent QC processes, and working collaboratively with manufacturers, it’s possible to achieve better pricing, better quality, and more reliable lead times over the long term.
