Independent furniture retailer Sturtons & Tappers has confirmed it will close this weekend.
Situated on Wimborne Rd in Bournemouth, the business owners David and Pauline Scott decided to call time and will retire following a closing down sale, which launched back in July and will conclude on Saturday 27 September 2025.
The closure brings an end to almost 120 years of trading, with the business first being established back in 1906.
A recent statement said: “The countdown is on — we’re now in our very last week at Sturtons & Tappers. After nearly 120 years of serving our community, it’s been wonderful to welcome so many of you through our doors during these closing weeks.
“There are still plenty of bargains to be found across all departments — from furniture and beds to homewares and linens — but stock is running low, and once it’s gone, it’s gone.
“If you’ve been meaning to pop down for one last visit, now’s the time. Don’t miss your chance to take home a piece of Sturtons & Tappers before we close our doors for good this Saturday at 5pm.”
