Family run contract furniture manufacturer Morgan Furniture has closed after more than 30 years of trading.
The business, which operated its factory out of Southbourne and also had a London-based showroom, cited both ongoing “global and financial issues” as the reason behind its closure.
The company has engaged with accounting and insolvency firm Azets UK to assist with placing the business into liquidation.
In a statement on the closure, Morgan said: “After 33 years of design-led manufacturing in the UK, we are unfortunately closing the doors at Morgan.
“Due to both global and financial issues of recent years we have come to this inevitable decision with a heavy heart, but also with gratitude for all that these years provided.
“As a family run business, we would like to thank all our employees over the years that kept the dream alive and became a part of the family. We are delighted to say that many have been with us from the start, and they will be greatly missed.
“We would also like to thank our clients, suppliers and external designers for their ongoing support and the wonderful projects we had the opportunity to be a part of. These have been numerous highs that we will remember with joy.”
