British lighting manufacturer Northern Lights has reduced prices across its Luxury Signature Collection, despite continued cost pressures across the manufacturing sector, where rising energy, material and labour costs have driven prices upwards.
The manufacturer, which has evolved from a small team of stained-glass craftspeople into a globally recognised lighting brand, is cutting its prices following years of streamlining production and improving operational efficiencies at its Derbyshire facility.
Founded in Chesterfield in 1987, Northern Lights designs and handcrafts decorative lighting at a 38,000 sq. ft. facility, one of the largest purpose-built lighting factories in the UK, with a 47-strong team, some of whom have been with the company for more than 25 years.
Donna Bruce, Managing Director at Northern Lights, said: “Our updated pricing across our Signature Collection makes our British-made lighting more accessible for specification across a wider range of projects.”
She adds: “Over the past few years, we’ve made significant improvements in our manufacturing capabilities, streamlining production processes and identifying efficiencies across our operations.
“These enhancements have strengthened how we work, supporting British manufacturing and creating efficiencies that allow us to deliver greater value without compromising on quality.”
The brand’s lighting can be seen in landmark venues around the world, from Raffles London at The OWO and the Waldorf Astoria to Harrods and the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
Despite updated pricing, the products remain unchanged. The Luxury Signature Collection continues to combine premium raw materials with handcrafted decorative detailing, reflecting the company’s longstanding commitment to British craftsmanship. The Made in Britain-accredited business has twice been recognised with Manufacturer Top 100 status.
Bruce adds: “At Northern Lights, we’ve always believed that success isn’t about working harder; it’s about working smarter. We remain committed to proving that British craftsmanship, exceptional quality and competitive pricing can coexist.
“Our focus has been on removing inefficiencies, embracing innovation and ensuring that the benefits of those initiatives are shared with our customers.
“The products remain the same. The craftsmanship remains the same. Our commitment to British manufacturing remains the same. What has changed is our ability to deliver greater value.”
