People at the heart of Sealy

Natalie Armstrong, Product Development Manager at Sealy UK & Ireland, talks about the secret to its ongoing success and award-winning comfort after recent industry recognition.

As 2025 draws to a close, bed manufacturer Sealy UK & Ireland has rounded off the year in style after being crowned the coveted Bed Product of the Year award for its Elevate Edison Luxury Plush mattress at the recent NBF Bed Show.

The judges were impressed that Sealy had clearly listened to its customers, adding another dimension in feel and comfort to an established range. “Without pushing price points higher, backed by robust research and excellent marketing resources and support, this was a standout winner.”

Since September’s recognition, Sealy has continued to receive positive feedback from both long-standing partners and new prospects. “The response was not just in relation to the overall look and feel of the products, but also the small details and innovations that set Sealy Posturepedic apart,” said Natalie Armstrong, Product Development Manager at Sealy UK & Ireland. “It’s incredibly valuable and reinforces that we’re not only meeting the market’s expectations, but helping to shape them.”

Behind the products though is a busy, hard-working and dedicated team. It’s this ethos of ‘Excellence, Built by People Who Care’ that has been a key ingredient to Sealy’s success. “Our team in the UK is amazing,” continues Natalie.

“From patented spring technology to hand-finished detailing, every Sealy mattress represents decades of skill, care, and passion from a workforce whose combined service exceeds 750 years at the Aspatria factory.

“We’re so lucky to have such a workforce that always goes above and beyond to perfect our products and meet market demands, through to the service we provide to our retail partners.”

The Sealy story goes far beyond its Cumbria HQ, with a global operation, backed by science, the company has continued to evolve and build. “Sealy’s globally recognised innovation and award-winning products stem from a deeply rooted company ethos – that people are at the heart of everything,” Natalie added.

“The beauty of Sealy Posturepedic lies in the power of choice. Our range is designed to cater to a wide spectrum of comfort preferences; all built around our core Posturepedic technology. We have access to unrivalled science-based data, as well as first class research facilities as part of our wider group, which really cements what we’re doing here in the UK.

“We’re already the biggest bed brand in the world and we’re on course to becoming the number one brand here in the UK too. It starts, and continues, with our people. Next year, expect to see further product development as well as an inside look of what we do here in Aspatria following a recent visit by Big Furniture Group. See you in 2026!”
