Polish furniture maker to implement further job cuts

Polish furniture manufacturer Black Red White (BRW) has confirmed plans to implement a reduction in staff for the second time this year.

It is understood that the company, which is now owned by Austrian group XXXLutz following its acquisition during August 2025, is set to cut around 800 jobs across all departments of the business.

The cuts will be across its nationwide plants and are set to begin this month as well as roll into December. The move follows its previous workforce reduction earlier this year when around 500 staff were made redundant.

The job cuts form part of its wider restructuring process, while trade unions have urged the company to rethink, as well as calling for better redundancy packages.

Founded in 1991, BRW operates from 19 production plants in Poland and abroad, and exports to over 30 countries, employing between 6,600 and 8,400 people.
