Outdoor and indoor furniture retailer Whitehall Garden Centres has reported a decline in sales but a growth in EBITDA.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 May 2025, total sales fell 10% to £14.5m from £16.1m in 2024.
EBITDA stood at £1.3m, improving from £360,000. Pre-tax losses resulted at £443,000, narrowing from a loss of £519,000 recorded the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company, which operates three centres in Lacock Wiltshire, Whitchurch Bristol and Woodborough Pewsey Wiltshire, said: “Revenue has decreased by £1.7m to £14.5m. This is mainly due to the outdoor furniture department which saw a managed decline in sales from the peak during the covid era.
“GP margin grew from 40.1% to 44% which resulted in an increase of £23k at the Gross profit level. Overheads reduced in the year by £1m, so in spite of the sales decrease, overall profitability improved in the year.”
