Reduction in online sales dents furniture and interiors business

Furniture and interiors business Soho Home has reported a decline in sales while losses narrowed.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales fell 3% to £43.3m from £44.6m in 2023 (year ended 1 January 2023).

Losses resulted at £2.2m, narrowing from a loss of £5.1m. Adjusted EBITDA was at a loss of £1.6m, also narrowing from a loss of £3.6m.

Soho Home, which operates online and in select retailers, as well as from two UK stores, said: “The turnover for the Company for the 52 weeks ended 31 December 2023 was £43.3m, representing a -3% decrease in turnover on the prior period.

“This was driven by a decrease in online sales. The Company’s gross margin was 42% compared to a restated 33% in the prior period. This 9% increase is driven by the restatement of cost of sales in the prior year.”
