Family carpet business J&W Carpets has reported a decline in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2025, total sales fell 3.3% to £11.7m from £12.1m in 2024.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £102,000, down from £948,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Trading conditions have been challenging, which is reflected by the decrease in turnover and gross margins. Increasing staff costs and overheads remain a challenge for the business.

“Despite the drop in profitability, the strength of the company’s balance sheet will enable it to take advantage of any future opportunities which may arise.”
