Sales and profit down at furniture wholesaler

Furniture wholesale business Julian Bowen has reported a decline in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, total sales fell 7.3% to £30.2m from £32.6m in 2023.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £4m, down from £4.9m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that UK sales fell to £29.1m from £31.2m, while EU revenues decreased to £1m from £1.3m.

“The directors consider that the results for the year and the financial position at the end of the year represent a strong performance, particularly in view of the economic climate in general driven by continued geo-political events which have impacted supply chains worldwide.”
