Sales and profit down at UK division of French furniture retailer

The UK division of French furniture retailer Roche Bobois has reported a decline in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, total sales fell 10% to £18.4m from £20.5m in 2023.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £307,000, down from £1.5m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which trades through eight UK showrooms, said: “The decrease in turnover in 2024 was the result of economic constraints, a cooling housing market, shifts in consumer spending priorities, and broader global market challenges.

“Despite this, gross margins remained consistent at 61%, though profit before tax decreased to £307,926 primarily due to the reduced turnover and additional costs related to the planned transfer of a showroom in 2025.”
