Home interiors specialist BHID Group, which owns furniture brand Neville Johnson and kitchen firm Tom Howley, has reported a combined turnover of almost £80m.
According to the latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 April 2025, total sales for fitted furniture firm Neville Johnson stood at £28m, a decline of 10% from £31.2m in the period. Pre-tax profit resulted at £109,000, down from £584,000.
Stated within its report, the company said: “Sales declined by 10% year-on-year to £28.0m. However, Gross Profit margin improved to 48.9% (2024: 47.3%), reflecting strong progress in optimising operational performance, margin delivery, and procurement initiatives during the year.
“Weak consumer sentiment contributed to a reduction in Order Intake, resulting in a decrease in the year-end outstanding order book to £8.8m (2024: £9.6m).”
Meanwhile, kitchen firm Tom Howley saw sales decline 1% to £47.5m from £48m, with pre-tax loss resulting at £478,000, down from a profit of £5.9m year-on-year.
“Overall, the Company’s performance in FY25 reflected a combination of positive operational progress and ongoing macroeconomic challenges. Sales decreased by 1% year-on-year to £47.5m. Gross Profit margin improved to 44.0% (2024: 42.7%).”
