Sales down but profit consistent at bedding firm

Specialist bedding fabric and textiles developer Redwood has reported a decline in sales as turnover fell below £10m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, total sales fell 9.1% to £9.8m from £10.8m in 2023.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £331,000, in line with the same figure recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The decrease in turnover was a result of difficult trading conditions following a strong 2023.

“Despite the fall in turnover, gross profit remained strong at £3.50m (2023: £3.46m) due to product mix and continual focus on operational efficiency.”
