Fabrics supplier Abraham Moon & Sons has reported a slight decline in sales as turnover as losses widened.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024, total sales fell 6.9% to £19.5m from £21m in 2023.
Pre-tax losses resulted at £524,000, widening from a loss of £466,000 recorded the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company said: “2024 remained a demanding year for the business as wider textile markets continued to experience uncertain demand patterns. Apparel fabric once again delivered the strongest performance within the company.
“The loss before tax was £524k as inflationary pressures on raw materials and labour continued to impact results, albeit at a slower pace than in the prior year.
“Operational progress was achieved in several key areas. Customer lead times improved significantly following continued focus on manufacturing efficiency.
“In 2025, focus will continue on customer service, innovation in sustainable manufacturing, and building the Moon team of the future while championing the value of wool as a fibre that deserves recognition in the premium segment.”
