Indoor and outdoor furniture and leisure retailer Haskins Garden Centres has reported consistent sales and a growth in profit.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 23 February 2025, total sales stood at £44.3m compared to £44.7m in 2024.
Pre-tax profit resulted at £3.8m, up from £3.6m against the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company, which operates from five garden centres in Southern England, said: “The company traded well in the year despite very poor gardening weather conditions. The economic uncertainty, continuing inflation and low consumer confidence have dampened turnover in the garden centre industry as a whole.
“The company is confident that the garden centre market, and its garden centres in particular, will continue to meet its customer expectations over the coming years. It has therefore continued to invest heavily upgrading its garden centres in its retail space, its restaurants and in continuing to install solar panels and other energy saving infrastructure during the year.
“During the year planning permission has been granted to develop the Farnham site, which will further enhance the company’s garden centre estate in the coming years.”
