Wells Interiors, the London-based specialist in luxury wallcovering installation, has appointed Joanna Draper as Chief Operating Officer to spearhead business growth and expansion into new territories across Europe and the Middle East.
Draper joins from the renowned British interior design studio Nina Campbell, where she spent over eight years rising to Head of Interior Design and Operations.
During her tenure at Nina Campbell, Draper oversaw complex high-end residential and hospitality projects across the UK, US, and Middle East, combining creative leadership with operational precision. Her appointment marks a significant step in Wells Interiors’ growth strategy, strengthening the leadership team alongside co-founders Mick and Natalie Wells as demand for specialist installation expertise continues to rise internationally.
With luxury wallcoverings becoming increasingly complex, more than 25% of new enquiries to Wells Interiors now involve rectifying failed installations, highlighting the critical importance of specialist knowledge when working with delicate, hand-painted, and technically demanding materials. Draper is ideally placed to advocate best practice and reinforce the value of expert installation across high-end projects.

Draper began her career in medicine, training and practising as a surgeon before transitioning into interiors. The discipline and attention to detail required in surgical practice now inform her approach to operational leadership, bringing clarity, structure and rigorous process management to complex installations.
In her new role, Draper will oversee commercial growth strategy, delivery planning and team development, ensuring that Wells Interiors’ technical craftsmanship is matched by streamlined operations and a consistently elevated client experience. As the business expands into new markets, she will focus on scaling the company while preserving the specialist expertise that underpins its reputation.
Mick Wells, Managing Director at Wells Interiors comments: “Joanna’s extensive experience in high-end interior design, combined with her operational expertise, will be instrumental as we continue to grow the business both in the UK and internationally. She shares our commitment to craftsmanship and exceptional client service, and her leadership will ensure that our technical excellence is consistently delivered across every project.”
Joanna Draper, Chief Operating Officer, adds: “Wells Interiors represents something rare in our industry, deep technical mastery combined with genuine pride in craft. As wallcoverings become increasingly complex and valuable, installation is no longer a finishing trade, it is a specialist discipline. My focus is to build the operational structure that allows our craftsmen to deliver at the very highest level, consistently. Growth will only ever be meaningful if it strengthens quality, not dilutes it.”
