Two divisions of sofa manufacturing group have both filed notices of intent to appoint administrators.
It is understood that Westbridge Furniture Limited and Belfield Leisure Limited have filed notices of intent to appoint administrators just over a year after the group was sold via a pre-pack process.
Back in February 2025, Sarah O`Toole and Edward Williams, both of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, were appointed as joint of administrators of Belfield Group Limited, Tetrad Limited, Belfield Furnishings Limited, Clinchplain Limited, Belfield Holdings Limited and Westbridge Furniture Designs Limited.
Following the appointment, group was sold to Craft Group Holding Limited, Craft (Westbridge) Limited, Craft (Belfield) Limited, Craft (Tetrad) Limited and Craft (Clinchplain) Limited for a sum of around £1m (see related).
Craft Group Holding Limited was subsequently changed to TBG Furniture Limited with all newcos incorporated on 4 February 2025 (which later saw respective name changes) and owned by parent group Craft Topco Limited. All entities are affiliated with Blandford Capital LLP, with Tom Prestwich, CEO, and the management team continuing to lead the business under the new ownership (see related).
Following the news of the recent notice of intention to appointment administrators, Group HR Director, Claire Horner, has shared a post expressing the “unsettling” situation it now founds itself in.
“I’m writing this post with an extremely heavy heart. Two parts of our Group have filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators, and the future is now uncertain for around 500 of our colleagues. While we’re staying as positive as we can, I know these are deeply unsettling times for everyone involved.
“Whilst we don’t know how the next few weeks or months will unfold or who, if anyone, will be affected, over the last 24 hours, many of our team have added the “Open to Work” banner to get ahead of what may come.
“In the spirit of continuing to support our colleagues as much as possible, I would like to be able to help should the worst happen and I’d be incredibly grateful if anyone in my network could reach out if you have current or upcoming vacancies in the areas below (linked here in the post).
“We still don’t know what will happen over the next few weeks and months and we’re staying positive and hopeful about the future, whatever shape it may take. However, if you are able to help with my back up plan – whether with roles available now or opportunities you may have coming up – please do message me. Thank you.”
