Wren Contracts has further strengthened its public sector leadership team with the appointment of David Hedges as National Operations Manager, Public Sector, a role that will see him oversee the delivery and performance of projects for housing associations, local authorities and public sector partners across the UK.

Bringing more than 28 years of experience in the kitchen industry, David joins Wren Contracts with an extensive background in operational management, customer service and project delivery. His career began as an apprentice with Paula Rosa Manhattan, where he developed a passion for the industry that has remained with him throughout his professional life. Since then, he has built a reputation for delivering high-quality outcomes on large-scale residential and public sector projects, combining operational expertise with a strong understanding of the challenges facing contractors, housing providers and residents alike.
In his new role, David will focus on driving operational excellence across the public sector division, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, consistently and to the high standards expected by Wren Contracts’ growing customer base.
Already making an impact within the business, David recently played a key role in securing a major partnership with Birmingham City Council, where Wren Contracts was appointed sole kitchen supplier for more than 4,500 properties.
Commenting on the achievement, David said: “Success in the public sector is built on trust, reliability and the ability to consistently deliver against demanding performance targets. The Birmingham City Council partnership reflects the confidence customers have in Wren Contracts’ ability to combine affordable quality products and an end-toend service that removes complexity and time from project delivery.
“What impressed me most when joining Wren Contracts was the ambition within the business. There is a genuine desire to challenge established ways of working, improve processes and raise industry standards. The organisation invests heavily in its people, products and infrastructure, but equally important is the willingness of the leadership team to listen, embrace feedback and support positive change.”
As part of one of the UK’s largest kitchen manufacturers, Wren Contracts combines UK manufacturing, appliances, in-house quartz production, dedicated logistics and specialist installation support to provide a fully integrated service for public sector customers. This vertically integrated approach enables the business to maintain exceptional control over quality, lead times and customer experience, helping partners deliver projects on time and within budget.
David believes these capabilities place Wren Contracts in a strong position to support the increasing demands of the public sector.
“There is growing pressure on housing providers to deliver more for less while maintaining high standards for residents. Wren Contracts is uniquely positioned to support those objectives through a combination of manufacturing scale, operational agility and a keen focus on customer service. I’m excited to be part of that journey and help drive the next phase of growth.”
