Cheshire-based family-run bed and mattress retailer The M6 Bed Warehouse has announced the opening of its third store.
Situated in Macclesfield, The M6 Bed Warehouse has taken over a former tile store with the property undergoing a complete refurbishment, which officially opened on 27 July 2026.
To mark the occasion, the team celebrated with balloons, offers across the store and plenty going on throughout the weekend.
“It’s a great opportunity for us to introduce M6 Beds properly to the Macclesfield community and showcase everything the new store has to offer,” said Louis Mitchell, Director of The M6 Bed Warehouse.
“The store is located in a former tile store within a really strong retail district in Macclesfield, alongside a bathroom retailer and close to tile and carpet stores. It’s a brilliant location for us as it complements our existing stores and strengthens our coverage across Cheshire.

“We were already delivering regularly into Macclesfield and the surrounding areas, so there was clearly an existing customer base and demand for what we offer. Having a physical presence locally means customers can now experience our range, speak to our team and try products for themselves, while still benefiting from our famous free delivery and free disposal services.”
Since opening, Louis said the response has “genuinely exceeded our expectations”. “Macclesfield is an amazing town and we’re incredibly proud to now be part of the local business community.
“We’ve had a fantastic reaction to the store itself, particularly the relaxed and welcoming environment. We’ve worked hard to create somewhere customers can take their time, browse at leisure, and get expert advice without any pressure. It’s been brilliant to see people responding to that approach.”
As part of the full refurbishment project, the business has made a substantial investment in the store, both in the physical fit-out and in the wider infrastructure required to support its continued growth.
The showroom has been designed to feel inviting, relaxed and easy to shop, rather than simply trying to cram as many beds into the space as possible. “We wanted customers to be able to move around freely, compare products and spend time finding the right bed for them,” Louis continued.

“As a specialist bed retailer, we’ve also made sure the range is incredibly broad. Customers will find an eclectic mix of leading NBF-approved brands including Sealy, Sleepeezee, Harrison Spinks and Enchanted House, alongside high-quality UK handmade beds, ottoman beds and adjustable beds.
“Our mattress selection covers a huge variety of sleep preferences too, including natural fillings, gel, memory foam and latex, with firm, medium and soft options across different feels and tensions. We also have a significant amount of stock available for rapid delivery, with many products available within 24 hours.”
The investment hasn’t just been in the showroom. Over the last couple of years, M6 Beds has invested heavily in its operational infrastructure, including route planning technology, additional delivery vehicles and more staff.
“That investment has given us the capacity and confidence to open another store while continuing to deliver the level of service our customers expect,” Louis said.

With the new store firmly up and running, Louis hinted at future growth but confirmed that the focus remains on Macclesfield and its other two locations for now. “Macclesfield is an important part of our wider strategy to grow the M6 Beds store network over the coming years. We’re ambitious about the future, but we also want to make sure we get the foundations right and that every new location receives the same level of attention and investment.
“For now, our focus is on establishing Macclesfield and continuing to build on the success of our existing stores. That said, we certainly haven’t ruled out further opportunities as the right locations become available.
“Opening our third store is a really proud moment for everyone at M6 Beds. We’ve come a long way since my dad started the business in a small warehouse back in 2001, and seeing the business develop into three showrooms is something the whole family is incredibly proud of.
“We’re excited about the future, but we’re equally conscious of what has got us here – great people, great products and, most importantly, looking after our customers.
“We’re looking forward to bringing our knowledge and passion for beds to the people of Macclesfield and the surrounding areas, and hopefully making a positive contribution to the town for many years to come.”
