Scottish charity Golf Day makes final call for players

The Scottish Furniture Trades Benevolent Association (SFTBA) is preparing for its annual Golf Day.

Taking place on Thursday 6th August 2026, the event is held at Deer Park Golf & Country Club on Golf Course Rd in Livingston.

This year’s main sponsor is Archers Sleepcentre, while a number of other furniture and bed businesses are sponsoring trophies and holes.

The SFTBA, a charity that helps people in Scotland connected with the furniture industry who require a helping hand through illness or misfortune, is also calling for final player registrations.

The event is just £60 per person and includes an 18-hole course followed by a three-course dinner and prize-giving evening.

“It’s a shotgun start,” says Bob Dymond, Treasurer. “That means that every team is allocated a tee and every team tees off on the sound of a buzzer.

“There are only a few spaces left with four prizes to be won for a hole in one at the four Par 3s. These include a £25,000 car, a £10,000 Rolex, a £2,000 voucher to spend on a golfing holiday of their choice and a weekend golfing in the UK.”
